To phase-lock an array of single-mode laser diodes, the authors use a waveguide grating with resonant abnormal reflection as the common external feedback mirror: it reflects 100% at the resonance wavelength under normal incidence and is anti-reflecting elsewhere. Designing it splits into two steps, the anti-reflecting waveguide stack first, then the period and depth that place a resonance of the wanted angular width at the wanted wavelength.

Nikolay Lyndin, the author of MC Grating, is a co-author, and the design is one of the site's step-by-step examples.

Section 1.1.5 of the step-by-step examples reproduces the resonant-mirror design, adapted to demo mode.

MC Grating is Windows software that computes diffraction gratings by the modal method and the C method. The download page has the current release, which runs in demo mode without a license key.
