A conference summary: a high-contrast subwavelength binary corrugation on a low-index substrate can reflect an arbitrarily narrow band under normal incidence. The conditions are given in terms of the resonances and interference of two grating modes, with normalised analytical expressions that enumerate every structure showing the effect. The Modes Interference feature of Modal Collinear is the numerical counterpart of this two-mode picture.

MC Grating is Windows software that computes diffraction gratings by the modal method and the C method. The download page has the current release, which runs in demo mode without a license key.
