Extends the coordinate-transformation idea to a grating coated with any number of layers whose interfaces all follow the same profile. Mapping every interface onto a parallel plane at once gives a differential system with constant coefficients in each layer, so a multicoated grating costs little more than a bare one. The numerical results cover the entire optical range, including metallic substrates.

This is the "Classic" method of Chandezon Collinear and Chandezon Conical: identical corrugation at every interface. The "Extended" method, where each interface may carry its own profile, follows [Li, Granet, Plumey and Chandezon 1996](https://mcgrating.com/publications/li-1996-extending-the-c-method.html).
